I started reading "Lying: Moral Choice in Public and Private Life" last night. I loathe our innate ability to lie in order to create a power structure which enables the liar to gain an advantage over the manipulated individual.

We even lie to ourselves in order to gain advantage in our own personal endeavors.

Coupled with some insight I gained through reading another book, "Mean Genes," I have officially decided that I hate being human. We live in a world in which biology dictates to us a selfish nature. We will always be genetically inclined to preserve our own self interest... by nature, we are not very giving unless our "gifts" generate a positive return. We are not above deceit, lies, half-truths, or dishonest behavior in order to gain a financial, physical, or psychological advantage. Of course, one can choose to ignore that genetic code... and, for some that is easier than for others.

I'm going to fight my genetic code. I no longer desire to be human. It's not about me....

me me me me me me me me me me me me me.
