an interesting property to being grumpy is that all of the elements involved belong to the person being grumpy. it's a self contained mood. no other person is responsible (whether or not the host is responsible for his/her own mood is another matter - after all, what if general grumpiness is merely a chemical imbalance of sorts. could one be held responsible for being grumpy under a circumstance in which the brain regulates a chemical unbeknownst to the owner of the brain, without prior consent of the owner. what if the non-conscious part of the brain actually owns the conscious part of the brain. in a sense, we are run by a machine - actions dictated through a selection process outside of the realm of our free will).
in other words, it is not my fault that i can be a grumpy ass.
